HP LaserJet 1320 + Windows 8 = No 1200 dpi

I have a HP LaserJet 1320.

In Windows XP I used to get high quality 1200 dpi printouts.

However in my new Windows 8 HP Pavilion g6 laptop I no longer have that option! I only have 2 options: 600 dpi and 300 dpi).

I have installed the latest print drivers from HP (July 2013).

I would be very grateful if someone could provide a solution (I am even willing to try a complex solution as long as it is well detailed).

What is sad is that my 10 year old HP LaserJet produces better printouts in Windows 8 than my newer 1320!
