Hello, this is my first post, I would very much appreciate any responses.
This HP 5550 colour laserjet jams every time I try printing paper from any tray, even in diagnostic mode and without any cartridges. The paper accordians in the fuser every time, and displays the message '13.09.00 jam'.
I ran a sensor test: Sensor D (PS6 output bin full) should be 0 because the output bin is completely empty, but normally reads 1. BUT it rapidly flashes between 0 and 1 if I rest my hand on the top of the printer case. When I removed the fuser unit, I found a piece of mangled and burned black plastic about 1 inch long and 1/8 wide, that was not attached to anything. See the attached photo of this plastic thing.
Could this be a sensor or flag problem which causes the paper to jam?
I have read up on 13.09.00 jams, and have tried suggestions including removing cartridges, cleaning the fuser, trying different paper sizes and trays, and running diagnostics. I have not replaced any items yet though. Many thanks in advance.
